IVF Monitoring #3

Cancelled.

Nine days of stims.
Lining at 8mm.
Six follicles between 9mm - 11mm.
Estrogen just over 300.

Not good enough. They will not convert to IUI, as even that would require too much longer on meds. They are concerned about diminishing egg quality by stimming for so many days. So we cut and run.

Fortunately, I refilled my meds last week in anticipation of longer stimulation. Now I have leftovers for another shot at this even though our coverage is all used up. We will have a follow-up with our RE in two weeks to discuss changes to the protocol and getting back on the schedule to start over.

For tonight, I'm drowning my sorrows in junk food.

  5. This just sucks. I'm so sorry for you. :-( I hadn't been to your blog in a while, so I was behind on what was going on. Sometimes when we are tweeting, I struggle to keep up. My day job is such an ass.

  6. That stinks, I am so sorry! What about no Lupron next time around? Im not sure if that is what made the difference but i was more productive this go around. Also, if you need meds you can always look for folks who sell them for less if you trust that method. I can find you the fb page, someone else just blogged about it, let me know. My thoughts are with you.

  8. As I said on Twitter, if you're going to have a pity party, you HAVE to have it catered. I really am just so sorry. I'm hoping that at your next "WTF Appointment", you truly find out WTF. You know I'm thinking of you and pulling for you. xoxo

  11. I'm so, so sorry. I can't imagine how painful and frustrating this is. To put invest all of that work, money, and hope only to have it snatched away. Thinking very much of you. I do hope that they find answers quickly and the best protocol for you.

  13. I am so very sorry. I think I said on twitter that I had 2 canceled IVF cycles in the past (we retrieved but did not transfer so it is a bit different)- those cycles were so very hard and hopeless for me. I hope you hang in there. My very cycle was a disaster and was canceled, we switched RE's after that and had much different results (no bfp but still better). Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or if I can help in any way
I am sending love to you from NYC. hang in there.

  15. So sorry-- this is just the worst sort of end to something that inspires both fear and tremendous hope. I'm glad you were able to stockpile some meds and really hope your next cycle's response is worlds different.

  18. I'm so sorry sweetie. Have you looked into Mini IVF? It requires a lot less drugs and produces better quality eggs. That's what ivf I went through at a clinic in NYC. Might just be something to look into? Big, big hugs!
